Trip to Yellowstone part 1
I know that every time I come back from a trip I say that it was the best of all. I shouldn’t say that anymore, cause at this point I already discovered that every trip will always be the very best one! Even the ones where I get in trouble or in dangerous situations, the trips always turn out to be just awesome!! So I’ll just say that this was another AMAZING trip.
I flew into Salt Lake city, Utah without a plan, hotel reservation or a clear idea of where exactly was I going first, but sure that I was gonna love everything around there. I only had a car rental reservation, a rode atlas of the U.S and a sleeping bag. Once in Salt Lake I decided to drive south to Arches National Park.
I got to Moab on time for dinner and went to a bar to get some “bar food” after eating I ordered a scotch and what was my surprise when the bartender, instead of bringing it ride away, asked a guy in the bar if he would sponsor me!! to which of coursed I replied: I don’t need any sponsor!! And he said:” here you do! In the state of Utah we don’t sell liquor, this is a club and you need to be a member or be sponsored by a member in order to get a drink." I couldn’t believe it! But finally I got my drink and a couple of sponsors who ended up being very nice people! After all this “new experience” I drove to the desert where I slept in my sleeping bag, outside the car under the most amazing stary sky. It was so beautiful, that I have no words to describe it. and the picture is not the best… although when maximize it you’ll be able to see the stars!
The sunrise woke me up next morning and the colors were just amazing.
I drove to the closest bathroom in the park and found this in the door…
... after spending the night outdoors and with no protection whatsoever!!! LOL!!!
I spent hours exploring the park; hiking and seeing the most amazing rock formations due to the erosion of the sedimentary rock. Arches, suspended rocks and unbelievable boulders. All of these were topics which I learnt about in my physical science class this semester, so it was really interesting to actually understand why the rocks and landscape in general looked like that!!
