Copenhagen in 3 weeks!!!

I’m finally moving to Denmark!!!

It took me a long time to make this decision. It’s probably because this basically is the start of me changing my Colombian passport into a Danish one. I know that in order to do that I must give up my Colombian one. That is a tough decision. It is true that my country is not doing very well, and that Denmark is an excellent country, but I am Colombian, regardless! And if I have Danish blood running through my veins I also have Colombian, and then I don’t understand why cant I have two nationalities?
Anyway that is how it is and I don’t think they are going to change that law because of me, although I think it doesn’t make any sense…

The time that I have been living in Germany couldn’t have been better. I don’t regret a single second or experience that I’ve had here. At the same time, I cant think of tougher moment in my life either, but I guess that’s life. We are learning every day and if I had to go through all these to become a better person in the future, then I’m very glad I did.

I am VERY excited about moving to
Copenhagen. I have been there once and I absolutely loved it. The place is great, the people are not only very nice and more extroverted than the Germans, but amazingly good-looking. Best of all, I’m going to live in the center of the city, which I find great!

Eating habits!

On Saturday we had a dinner party at Baris and Genevieve’s and as always it was excellent!

When I came to Europe, I made a promise to my self “I would stop been picky with food and try at least once everything that was offered to me”
It has been like that, that’s why on Saturday I ate liver, for the first and probably last time in my life.
My friends, who know me for a long time, would know that this is a big step for me. and actually that’s not the only “strange” thing that I have eaten since I have been here; in Moscow I ate tongue...
The point is not that now I like that kind of food, but is definitely better to “know” that I don’t like it!

Heidelberg!

After the wedding, Chris and I went to Heidelberg for a couple of days. That is a great city with an amazing castle and the very first university in Germany, is a place full of history, monuments and tourists. We had a very nice time there, on Tuesday we went to Frankfurt where I took a train back to Berlin and Chris took a plane to Thailand!
Here are more pictures!!!

Erik and Ariane's Wedding

Last weekend Chris and I went to his very good friends Erik and Ariane’s wedding. Which was in a small city in the south of Germany called Birkenau, we left Berlin on Sunday at 7 o’clock in the morning and after getting almost zero sleep the night before chris had to drive the six hour that took us to get there, because Sasha who was supposed to drive got sick the night before and wasn’t able to do it anymore.

It was great to see all the differences between a wedding in Colombia and one in Germany. At the beginning I was a little worried because I didn’t know what was the appropriate outfit to wear for a ceremony here and obviously as a traveler I don’t have many elegant clothes..., but it turn out to be very uncomplicated, which is kind of fun, because the important thing here is that all your friends are celebrating with you and not how good they look in their very expensive dresses. Although we looked very nice in the celebration wearing our nice outfits!

The party was very nice, so was the food and the best was to see all the happiness in Erik and Ariane’s face. Their friends did very nice and unusual things, which I found very cool, like for example a girl brought 52 postcard with the couple’s address and a date written on them already, so that every guest could take one and send it on the indicated day and this way the new couple would get on their first year of marriage one postcard from one of their friend every week.
Some other friends did a video with pictures from the very beginning of their relationship, which was 10 years ago, until now and somebody else printed a newspaper based on their whole relationship and then sold it to the guests to collect money for their honeymoon. That was really cool! It was a nice experience!

I’m Back!!!

It has been I while since I last wrote something in my Blog!
I’m going through a confusing moment in my live; many changes in a short period of time. Stability is something that I simply don’t now..., which is fine, its just that all the things happened at the same time , so is kind of hard to think clearly and put some order in my head!

Its funny to remember, that not very long ago I used to think that I wouldn’t be able to manage situations like this ones, based on others experiences. But here I am and still fighting! And hopefully things are going to start working sooner than later. It definitely would be easier to pack my things and go back home… where everything is waiting for me, without any kind of effort. But I’ve always like challenges and when finally things start working, I know that victory is going to taste better after all this work!!!
